HANOI RUSH Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 11, 2026

HANOI RUSH ("the app") does not collect information that identifies you. There are no accounts, the app never asks for your name, email, phone number, or address, and the developer runs no server.

The app does use two Google services, and information is collected in the process. One is advertising (Google AdMob); the other is usage statistics used to improve the game (Google Analytics for Firebase). This policy explains what each one collects and how you can opt out.

1. Information handled

Stored on your device only, never transmitted

The following stays on your device and is never sent anywhere. Deleting the app deletes it.

Usage statistics collected to improve the game

To find out where players get stuck and where they give up — so the difficulty curve, the tutorial, and the screens can be fixed — the app sends the following to Google Analytics for Firebase. Turning off Settings → "Usage Stats" in the app stops this collection at any time.

DataWhat it contains
Screen viewsWhich screen you opened — title, difficulty select, game, records, medals, or settings
Tutorial progressWhether the tutorial was started, completed, or skipped, and which step you were on if you skipped
Per-round summaryDifficulty (number of disks), elapsed time, move count, moves as a percentage of the minimum, the longest pause between inputs in that round, whether you finished or quit partway, whether you left the game screen with Retry or Home, and the play time accumulated since the last ad
Records and medalsThe rank a new record reached, how much time it shaved off your previous best, and the medal tier earned
Best tier per difficultyYour current best medal tier for each difficulty from 3 to 9 disks
Setting changesWhich setting you changed and the new value — language, haptics, sound style, sound and music volume
Ad exposureWhen a banner or interstitial ad was shown and dismissed, and whether an interstitial was shown or, if it was not, which condition prevented it. If the advertising service is linked to analytics, the estimated ad revenue from that impression is included as well
Collected automatically alongsideApp instance ID, app version, device model, OS version, screen size, device language, approximate region inferred from your IP address, first-launch time, and session start times

Collected by Google for advertising

The Google Mobile Ads SDK collects the following, per Google's published "App store data disclosure" (updated July 25, 2026).

DataPurpose
IP addressEstimating the approximate location of the device
Device ID (advertising identifier and similar)Third-party advertising and analytics
Advertising data (ads you have seen)Powering advertising and analytics features
Product interactions (app launch taps, video views, and similar)Improving advertising performance
Performance data (launch time, hang rate, energy usage)Understanding user behavior, planning features, displaying ads, and sharing with other entities that display ads
Crash logs not associated with a userDiagnosing problems, improving the SDK, advertising and analytics

2. Why this information is handled

3. Retention and deletion

Settings and records stored on your device are deleted when you delete the app. The developer keeps no copy, so there is nothing separate to delete.

Usage statistics are retained for 14 months. Individual per-round records are deleted 14 months after the record is created, leaving only aggregated figures. Deletion runs as a monthly batch, so the actual removal can be up to a month later.

Values kept at the user level, such as your best medal tier for each difficulty, have their 14-month period restarted every time you open the app, so they persist for as long as you keep playing. Deleting the app destroys the app instance ID, so nothing further is recorded, and whatever remains is deleted once the period above passes.

Individual records are tied to the app instance ID alone, so they cannot be traced back to a particular person.

Google's retention and deletion practices are governed by Google's own policy. See the Google Privacy Policy.

4. Third parties

The app uses the following two services. Both are provided by Google LLC.

ProviderGoogle LLC (Google AdMob, User Messaging Platform)
PurposeServing ads, measuring ad performance, managing advertising consent
DataThe items listed in "Collected by Google for advertising" above
ProviderGoogle LLC (Google Analytics for Firebase)
PurposeAnalyzing usage statistics to improve the game
DataThe items listed in "Usage statistics collected to improve the game" above

Information collected by these services is handled under the Google Privacy Policy, and may be transferred to servers Google operates in other countries. The developer shares your information with no other third party and sells none of it.

5. Advertising identifier and opting out

On iOS, the system asks your permission before the app can access the advertising identifier (IDFA). You may decline — you will simply see non-personalized ads instead, and nothing about the game is restricted. This choice affects advertising only; the usage statistics in section 1 do not use IDFA, so they are the same whether you allow or decline.

You can change this choice at any time.

6. Your rights

Because the developer holds nothing that identifies you, there is no way to single you out in order to process an access, correction, or deletion request. You control the following directly.

For anything else, write to the address below and you will get a reply.

7. Children

The app is not directed to children under 14, and it is not configured as a child-directed app with the advertising service. The developer does not knowingly collect information from children under 14.

8. Safeguards

The developer operates no server of their own and does not collect information that identifies you in the first place. Not collecting the data is the strongest safeguard this app can offer.

Settings and records on your device live in the operating system's per-app storage, which other apps cannot read. Usage statistics are transmitted over encrypted connections to systems Google operates, and the developer reviews the results only to improve the game and does not attempt to identify individual users.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated text and its effective date will be posted on this page. Changes that disadvantage users will be posted at least 7 days before they take effect.

Effective dateWhat changed
August 11, 2026Added the context of leaving the game screen to the usage statistics collected — whether you pressed Retry or Home, the play time accumulated since the last ad, and whether an interstitial was shown and if not why. Reflected in the per-round summary and ad exposure rows of section 1. Also removed theme and screen effects from the setting changes row — those two settings can no longer be changed in the app, so they are not collected.
August 10, 2026Added collection of usage statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase) to improve the game. Accordingly, the opening promise changed from "does not collect or store your personal information directly" to "does not collect information that identifies you", and the data collected, the opt-out, the retention period, and the third parties were reflected in sections 1, 2, 3, and 4, the relationship between the advertising identifier and usage statistics in section 5, the opt-out method in section 6, and the safeguards in section 8.
